Mango Sweet Pachadi

Ingredients:

Raw Mango
1 big (approx. 300 gms)
Grated Jaggery
1 cup (200 gm)
Red chilli powder
½ tsp
Turmeric powder
a pinch
Salt
½ tsp

Method:

  1. Wash the Mango well. Peel the skin and remove flesh part ( discard the seed). Cut into medium pieces.
  2. Heat a Kadai and add mango pieces, red chilli powder, turmeric and salt with one cup of water. Once it starts boiling, lower the flame, cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. In another vessel, place the jaggery and add half cup of water. Boil till it melts. Remove and strain. Keep aside.
  4. Now coming to mango. Open the lid and mash the cooked mango using back of a flat broad spoon ( If bits seen here-and-there is okay. It should be like that only ). Now add strained jaggery syrup to this cooked mango pulp and mix well. Check the salt and sweetness. If needed adjust salt and sweetness with little jaggery.
  5. Keep mixing in low flame till it becomes shiny and semi-thick. Do not add more water. Be careful while mixing. It may spill out. Can use a lid to protect your hand.
  6. Once done switch off the flame. Once cooled, it will become thick.
Can serve with Rasam rice, Curd rice and Chappattis.
